告别葱茏的山峦、温暖的阳光和嬉戏的田野
玉米揣着朴素的梦想，跋山涉水来到
陌生的城市。它们小心翼翼地沿着大街小巷行走
尽量不去惊扰每一个人前行的脚步
它们知道，要在钢筋水泥地上生根
进入城市挑剔的胃，不是一件容易的事情

它们裹紧身子，规规矩矩地在角落中排列着
等待着别人来挑拣。市场里风向摇摆不定
它们为了更好地迎合消费节拍
不得不长成甜的、糯的或者其它类型的
不得不以煮着、蒸着或者烤着自己来适应
它们忍受着那些无奈和悲哀，一言不发

它们踽踽地走在街道上，听着自己的脚步声
如爆玉米花一般在除夕前夜次第响起
眼前不停地晃动着亲人们朴实而期盼的脸
想到那些已不会伺弄的农具
它们拒绝回家

The Corn Refusing to Return Home
Farewell to verdant mountains, warm sunlight and field for gamboling
With a simple dream, the corns over mountains and thru water
Come to this strange city. They walk carefully across the streets
And try not to disturb any moving step
They know it not easy，To root in the concrete land
And into the picky stomach of the city

They wrap themselves, well-behaved, array in the corner
And wait for someone to choose. It is variable in the market
To adapt to the pace of consumption
They have to grow sweet, glutinous or other styles
Have to fit in boiled, steamed or grilled ways
They suffer sadness without choice，And without any word

They walk in the street lonely, listen to their footsteps
Like the popcorn cracking on New Year's Eve
Faces of their folks, simple and expecting, are flashing in eyes
Thinking of those farm tools that they can operate nevermore
They refuse to return home
